The Spirit Squadron, a Supporters Group for the Washington Spirit of the NWSL, is proud to participate in the 2023 Prideraiser and to once again support The Wanda Alston Foundation. Every goal scored by the Spirit in the month of June will benefit The Wanda Alston House.

The Wanda Alston Foundation provides shelter and support for Washington DC's LGBTQ youth.

The mission of the Wanda Alston Foundation (WAF) is to eradicate homelessness and poverty for LGBTQ youth between the ages of 18 and 24. They are dedicated to ensuring that LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness have access to servicaes that improve their overall quality of life.

Their mission is achieved though their advocacy and programming. The Wanda Alston Foundation advocates for increased resources for youth while providing programs inclusing housing, life skills training, case management services, linkages to medical care and mental health care and other social services, support in staying or returning to school, and emplyment support.
