In February 2024, Kings in the North lost a member of their group in part due to rising transphobic sentiment in Alberta. Scott celebrated our historic MLS Cup win with us 2019 as well as attending many other Kings events and Toronto FC games and he will be dearly missed.

After his passing, the recipient of his life insurance policy decided to donate the entire proceeds to help others struggling with similar challenges that cost Scott his life. In coordination with a Calgary based trans support organization Skipping Stone, the Jaime Scott Summers memorial fund was founded: https://www.skippingstone.ca/jaimescottsummers

In honour of Scott, this year Kings will organize a Prideraiser with proceeds going to this organization. Scott was my best friend, my confidant, my biggest supporter. Being able to remember him in this way and to know that in his memory we are helping others is such a great privilege. I am so thankful to anyone who chooses to participate.

You make a pledge for every MLS goal Toronto FC scores in the month of June. For example: If TFC scores 10 goals and you pledge $5.00 a goal. Your total donation at the end of the month will be $50.00. At the end of June you'll receive and email to complete your donation to Skipping Stone.
